Project BIG Vote – Civic Academy is a community-based civic engagement
initiative designed to educate, inform, and empower individuals to
become more active participants in the democratic process. The program
focuses on increasing awareness of voting rights, voter registration,
election procedures, civic responsibilities, and the importance of
participation at the local, state, and national levels.
Through educational workshops, community forums, voter registration
activities, and partnerships with community organizations, Project BIG
Vote – Civic Academy will provide participants with practical
information about how the government works, how elections affect their
communities, and how citizens can effectively advocate for issues that
matter to them. The Academy will also address common barriers to
voting, help participants identify reliable election information, and
promote a better understanding of the responsibilities associated with
informed civic participation.
A key goal of the initiative is to encourage consistent civic
involvement beyond Election Day. Participants will be encouraged to
learn about candidates and ballot issues, attend community and
governmental meetings, communicate with elected officials, serve as
volunteer deputy voter registrars when eligible, and become trusted
sources of civic information within their families and communities.
